The big national expo may not come to your city, but there is probably a travel expo near you somewhere in the calendar. Here is where to look, from large shows to an evening cruise night at a local agency.

Where to Look for a Travel Expo Near Me

National show cities

The Travel & Adventure Show visits ten metro areas; see our 2026–27 page for the list.

Convention center calendars

Your nearest convention or expo center lists upcoming public shows, including travel, outdoor and boat shows.

Motor clubs

Some regional AAA clubs and similar organizations hold travel shows or presentations for members.

Travel agencies

Local agencies host cruise nights and destination evenings with cruise line or tour representatives.

Libraries and community centers

Free travel talks by local travelers, tourist boards or agencies.

Cruise ports

Some ports and port cities hold cruise days or open events; check the port’s news page.

Agency Cruise Nights: The Small Expo

For cruise travelers, the most useful local event is often a cruise night: a travel agency invites a cruise line’s representative to present new ships and itineraries, sometimes with offers for attendees. They are small, free or low-cost, and there is no time-share pitch — though of course the agency hopes you will book.

Ask local agencies whether they hold them, or look for verified cruise specialists near you in the Official Cruise Directory. New ships are usually the stars of these evenings; our sister site New Cruises previews the ones coming next.

Before You Drive to a Local Show

  • Check that the event is public and run by a named organizer, not an invitation-only presentation.
  • Look at the exhibitor or speaker list to make sure it is worth the trip.
  • Register in advance if it is free; seats for popular talks can fill up.
  • Bring your travel dates and budget so you can ask useful questions.

Online Alternatives to a Local Expo

If nothing is on near you, cruise lines and tourist boards run webinars, virtual ship tours and online launch events, and many travel agencies stream their cruise nights. These cannot replace walking a show floor, but they cover the same ground: new ships, itineraries and offers, with time for questions. Our cruise advisors at Mister Cruise can also answer the questions you would have asked at a booth.

Planning to travel to a bigger show in another city? Combine it with a weekend away: most of the national show cities are great destinations in their own right, and Best of the USA has local guides for each.

Tip: put the dates of your nearest shows in your calendar as soon as they are announced. The big national shows are usually in the first months of the year.
